Specialism: Modelling

Over the last 2 years the college course has allowed me to advance my knowledge and skills in so many different areas including Concept Design, VFX, 3D Art, Coding and Animation and I have loved every minute of it. I want to be part of the next generation of the gaming world; to play a role in creating a household name that is known worldwide. I am a gamer and games make me happy, and I want to be able to be part of that process and make people happy. I chose game design because I want to make a career out of it. Games Design is a massive passion of mine. I have been playing so many Video Games for such a long time now and I have always been amazed with how fast games have evolved, it's fascinating to see how the quality of everything has improved drastically in such a short space of time.

My Three Portfolio Pieces:

Piece 1 - Lightsaber

I had great fun making this prop. It started with a simple fun Idea that me and my friend had, we decided we were going to attempt to make Lightsabre Hilts and I choose Kylo Ren’s Lightsabre because his Lightsabre was very Unique and I thought it would be a good Lightsabre to try and model. So, I started with a reference into what it looked like then I began modelling it in Maya and then I moved it over substance for its texture. I believe it went well and I really enjoyed doing it, probably the most fun I have ever had making a 3D Model.

Piece 2 – College Haunted House Project

This was a project I completed at college for my Games Design Course. This project was team based, I worked in a team of 4 to try and make the ground floor of a Haunted House. We all assigned our self’s separate rooms and I picked the living room. We all decided our house was going to be a murder scene, but no body knew who killed or what killed the people that died in the house. I designed and made my scene using Maya and substance. This was a great project for me because it was my first ever team-based project and I went well.

Piece 3 – Jurrasic Park Shaving Foam Can

Yet again another home project on something to do with Jurassic park. This time it was a prop a very important prop from the first movie, I have had so many people say, “what’s that?” and it infuriates me being such a big fan of the franchise but its fine if you don’t know what it is (all I’m going to say is go watch the first movie right NOW!). This was a great prop to make and I think it looks accurate to the one from the movie. It was made in Maya and textured in Substance and Photoshop.
