Shams Drury - Identity

My idea was to create a video of artist, BA Hons Fine Art student and my partner Shams Drury. His work is hugely inspired by his passion for the Peak District and ancient history. I wanted to show his process from both ends of the spectrum, using shots of him out and about at a local location of interest and at home in his studio. I included some of him in his studio at home, showing the creative process from both ends. I filmed pieces he’s working on at the moment and some shots of work he has already produced.

Fashion Editorial

I chose to create a video fashion editorial showcasing alternative bridal dress designs for the magazine, Rock N Roll Bride. I created looks based off non-conventional colour bridal gowns. I styled these very unconventionally for bridal wear, utilising accessories and jackets. The message is that white isn’t the only option for bridal wear, and that there can be something to suit everyone’s taste. I made the video quite experimental, trying to convey an atmosphere rather than simply just showcasing dress designs. My proposed end point was something fast paced and engaging that sells a strong image of a very alternative bride.
